About The Client
Pinnacle Holding Company is a diversified family of companies offering end-to-end business solutions across investments, payroll, marketing, cybersecurity, asset management, recruitment, insurance, and more. Pinnacle’s mission is to help business owners reclaim their most valuable resource: time, by consolidating essential services and solving common operational challenges under one umbrella.
Founded in 1996 by Gregg Kidd and Dan Raite as a small investment firm, Pinnacle has experienced significant growth over nearly three decades, evolving into a comprehensive solutions provider serving both businesses and individuals.
The Scope
Pinnacle required a strategic realignment of its positioning and messaging to reflect its scale, capabilities, and maturity as an organization. Rapid growth had resulted in inconsistencies across its digital presence, with the website no longer accurately representing the breadth of services or the cohesion of the Pinnacle family of companies.
Our scope included clarifying Pinnacle’s value proposition, refining brand messaging, and designing and developing a new website that could support long-term growth while clearly communicating the organization’s structure and purpose.
Message and Positioning
The core strategic decision was to position Pinnacle as a centralized hub for business solutions, a true one-stop resource designed to simplify operations and reduce the administrative burden on business owners. Messaging focused on efficiency, integration, and long-term partnership, reinforcing Pinnacle’s role in allowing clients to focus on growth rather than logistics.
Primary taglines included:
- Giving You Back the Time to Thrive
- Maximizing Your Time, Empowering Your Business
These statements guided both copy development and user experience decisions throughout the site.
The Website
One of the primary challenges was presenting multiple subsidiary companies, each with its own established brand identity, in a way that felt cohesive, intentional, and premium. Pinnacle intentionally avoided heavy iconography and stock photography, as these elements were perceived to dilute the brand’s credibility and sophistication.
To solve this, we implemented a color-driven design system using custom radial gradients derived from each subsidiary’s brand palette. On the homepage, these gradients work together to visually represent the unity of the Pinnacle family. As users navigate to individual company pages, the gradients transition to reflect the specific branding of that entity, creating a seamless yet distinct experience.
From an information architecture standpoint, the site was structured to balance two objectives:
- Clearly explain Pinnacle as an overarching organization.
- Highlight the individual strengths, services, and value propositions of each subsidiary without overwhelming the user.
- This approach ensured clarity, scalability, and intuitive navigation across all user paths.
The Result
The final outcome is a refined digital presence with clear, concise positioning and messaging that aligns Pinnacle with its target audience. The website effectively communicates Pinnacle’s values, long-term vision, and comprehensive service offerings while maintaining a cohesive, professional aesthetic.
The new platform not only supports current business needs but is also designed to scale alongside Pinnacle’s continued growth, providing a strong foundation for future initiatives.
